Today’s Travel Tuesday (#TT) goes to another of the Runaway clan – Runaway Juno! Juno, for anyone who doesn’t already know, is a travel blogger born and brought up in Seoul, South Korea. What interests me most about Junos blog, and the reason I have chosen to feature it today, is that she chooses to write in a second language – English. Despite the fact that Juno has never studied English, or had any proper English language training, she took a brave and ambitious step to write in this language in order to reach readers all around the world, and inspire them to travel like her.
Juno’s English will never be as good as someone who speaks it as a first language, neither will most people who speak anything as a second language, but regardless of this fact, she still provides really interesting travel content, insights, and pictures, as well as useful travel tips and advice based on her experiences, which is after all the most important part! For me, the content someone is providing is the most important part, and with Juno you know she will always provide something interesting or useful. She therefore gets my Travel Tuesday mention today!

Today’s Travel Tuesday (#TT) Feature goes to Nathan and Sofia from AsWeTravel.com. Nathan and Sofia started AsWeTravel.com around the same time as I started RunawayJane.com, back in February 2010. They had been blogging for about 11 months before that, under the url names nathansofia.com (8 months), and nathansofiatravel.com (3 months), but after finally deciding on their As We Travel name, their site has stormed into the top ranks of the travel blogging industry, with an average Alexa rank of 53,000, and a place amongst the top travel bloggers in every reputable Top 100 list!
Their quick succession into one of the top travel blogs around comes plain and simply from the useful and insightful content they produce. Some of my personal favourite posts of theirs include Why I Travel Instead Of Study, How To Travel With No Check In Luggage, and Things To Do In London – For Free! Sofia also wrote a guest post here on RunawayJane.com offering her tips on travelling as a couple, which is definitely worth a read.
For more info about AsWeTravel.com, or Nathan and Sofia generally, you can visit their website, or find them on Twitter @AsWeTravel.

Today’s Travel Tuesday (#TT) Feature goes to Brendan van Son from BrendansAdventures.com. Brendan gets my #TT mention today for his Top 100 Travel Blog list. Each week he creates a list of his Top 100 Travel Blogs based on a number of factors, such as Alexa rank, Content, and also personal opinion on whether Brendan liked that weeks article. Aside from the fact that Brendan must go to a lot of effort to create this list every week, it is becoming increasingly popular, and I also like how he brings in factors such as whether you’ve posted that week, or the quality of posts, as it means newer sites with good quality posts have the chance to feature a lot sooner than they would having to wait on the traffic building. The list is also just a good way to discover other travel blogs, for anyone wishing to discover new content.
For more information on Brendan, his Top 100 Travel Blogs list, or to check out the rest of his site, you can visit www.brendansadventures.com.

Today’s Travel Tuesday mention goes to Brooke Schoenman from BrookeVsTheWorld.com. Brooke quit her job back in 2007 and has been travelling ever since. Currently she is living in Sydney, Australia, but she has travelled to a diverse range of countries such as Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, and Ukraine.
The reason Brooke gets my Travel Tuesday mention today is for the amazing Female Travel Underground. A regular newsletter discussing everything you need to know about female travel. Brooke however, also has an extensive knowledge of how to learn a foreign language abroad through her experiences of learning Russian in Kyrgyzstan, and has even written a guest post here on RunawayJane.com on the subject – Language Study Abroad – How to make the most of it!
For more info on Brooke, her travels, the Female Travel Underground, or her blog, you can visit www.brookevstheworld.com.
Today’s Travel Tuesday feature goes to my good friend, and fellow travel blogger, Ross Cameron from NewAdventuresInBackpacking.com. For those who don’t already know, Ross was the one who convinced me to go travelling in the first place, back when I was just 17. In a way, if it wasn’t for him advising me to jack it all in and hit the road, I may not even be writing this travel blog now…
These days, after finishing a trip round Asia, and New Zealand, Ross is now a mature student at Uni, still travelling in his time off. He’s going through a revamp of his site right now, adding lots of informative travel related articles based on the last 5 years of his travels. Also, you can still read the diary of some of his previous travels in the archives of New Adventures in Backpacking if you want to find out how he got a long.
Ross has also written here on RunawayJane.com twice in the form of a guest post, on the topics “What I will miss about New Zealand”, and “Can you be too old to backpack?”
If it wasn’t for some words of wisdom from an older traveller like Ross back in the day (When I say older, I just mean older than me. He’s only 28!) I may not have went travelling at all, although a part of me thinks I’d have always went along this path somehow. It’s that first trip to Australia that gave me the travel bug, and has been the inspiration to travel as much as I have since then. Ultimately it’s what led me to become a full time travel writer like I am now, so for that reason I give Ross my Travel Tuesday mention!

Today’s travel tuesday feature goes to two of the more well known travel bloggers and podcasters within the travel blogging community, and that is Craig and Linda Martin from the Indie Travel Podcast!
For those who don’t already know, the Indie Travel Podcast is a Lonely Planet award winning travel podcast broadcast weekly by Craig and Linda. When the Indie Travel Podcast was created it was something completely unique within the travel blogging world, and not only that but it is completely free to listen and subscribe to via iTunes! The Indie Travel Podcast website however is also full of interesting travel posts, articles, and photography. A particular highlight being the regular travel photography contest which has many prizes up for grabs.
The main reason I have chosen the Indie Travel Podcast for this weeks Travel Tuesday mention is because of how the manage produce great travel content across a variety of mediums, be it podcast, writing, or photogrpahy. They also have a variety of other websites all offering great travel related tips and advice. For instance, Criag’s new travel blog Make Money Travel Blogging is a great resource for anyone looking to make money from their travel blog.
For more information about Craig, Linda, or any of their sites, travels, or podcasts, you can check out the Indie Travel Podcast website. You can also find and listen to my interview with Craig on my trip rtw by land and sea by clicking here.
