Vlog – A Guide To Scottish Swear Words

I’ve noticed a growing trend in Scotland of tourists coming to this country, hearing some of these words, and wondering what they mean. I can’t begin to count the amount of times foreign friends of mine who live over here have asked me what a dobber means!  So… to help all the new visitors to Scotland get to grips with the local lingo, and to know whether someone local is being nice or not, I thought I would translate some of these words into proper English so you know what they mean! Also, I just thought it would be a bit of fun!

Included are some common Scottish swear words such as bawbag, bawheed, jobby, and bampot! However, rather than write their actual literal meaning here in the text, it’s probably more fun for you to check out the video above! For some reason it just seems wrong writing these meanings down! 😛
